Anaclitism - Diaper fetishes are sometimes mentioned as an example of anaclitism, a desire for things one was exposed to in infancy. Anaclitism is a more general term in one way, as the objects don't necessarily have to be infantile, just things that one would have been exposed to during infancy. However, it is more narrow in another way: It implies that the conditions started in infancy. While anaclitism's definition fit into Freud's theories well, it hasn't been developed or supported empirically.

Do you ever get the feeling that you are living in a world that is more diapered than you think? I know I do and I think many would be surprised how common it may be. Do you find yourself glancing at people’s butts to see if its padded and then getting excited if it happens to be? If you do, you are a bonafide diaper watcher like many diaper wearers. Look at some of the diaper forums sometimes and websites sometimes and see how many registered members there are…it easily reaches into the tens of thousands of members. This does not include guests who never register and just lurk. It really makes you wonder how many adult babies and/or diaper lovers are out there. Take into consideration that many of the English diaper forums do not account for the thousands if not millions of ABDLs around the world that simply don’t understand enough of the forum to interact or register. Its a huge amount of people if you really sit down to think about it.
Many people, especially adult babies and diaper lovers, love the feeling of extra padding, especially if that padding is in the butt/seat area of the diaper. If you like that feeling, a booster is definitely the answer because it provides instant padding that not only increases absorbency of the diaper but also gives you that nice padded feeling in the seat region of the diaper that many people love.
The main thing I tell people is to have your reasons and justifications laid out up front and to make sure those reasons are not just that you like them. Start out with that it originated from a medical issue and then go from there. Use words like “security”, “comfort”, “de-stress”, and “calms me down” because these words are neutral and non-aggressive words that will make what you are telling them easier and put it in a more positive light. A lot of what you say and how you say it has to be tailored and catered to that person though based on what type of person they are.
