The crinkle? Hmmm.I definitely notice the sound as I walk, bend, sit down or stand up. I have tried the cloth-like diapers, but I do not feel as comfortable about them holding fluids as well as the non-cloth-like diapers. Also, the pull-up style diapers are convenient at home, most being made of the cloth-like stuff, but pull-ups don't work as well when using a public restroom stall because I would need to remove my pants in order to pull them on. I prefer wearing the plastic-like diapers with those sticky tabs on them as these are easier to put on while standing in a stall, the noise during changing in the stall, however, I could do without. The adjustable tabs allow me to put the diaper on tighter, thus reducing the amount of diaper movement and crinkling.
Wearing a diaper and changing a diaper in an airplane is handled I would say in the same manner you would any tight space or close-quartered area. If you wet your diaper on an airplane and it isn’t at risk of leaking then see if you are able to wait until the plane lands – it would just be easier in general to change your diaper in an airport bathroom for obvious reasons. If you are on a long flight though and have no choice and need to change your wet diaper then just take a diaper out of where ever you have it stored – don’t look suspicious though – just act like it is not a big deal. Especially on a plane you don’t want to be pulling anything out of a bag and look suspicious if you catch my drift. So, some tips for changing your diaper in an airplane bathroom would be to bring a pull-up to last you the rest of the way if you think it will be able to hold. A pull-up is a lot easier to put on then a diaper is and less time consuming. But, if all you have is diapers then just put the diaper on while sitting down if there is a space in that particular airplane bathroom…it is way easier than trying to stand up and changing. But, if you have to change your diaper standing up just use the wall to brace yourself against to provide some leverage so you don’t go swaying everywhere.
So, I figured I would make a post about wet diapers and clumping that happens in some poorly made diapers. In many store brand and poorly made diapers you get something called clumping where the urine causes the material to clump and you lose that nice soft protective cushion in the diaper and it turns into this rougher clumpy mess in the diaper. I have posted a picture of an Attends Diaper below that I wore a while ago after I had wet it…you can see the clumping in the bottom of the diaper.
